Chocolate Peppermint Patties Brownies
I found the “original” recipe for these on the back of a “holiday” bag of York Peppermint Patties. But for several reasons, that wasn’t the brownie recipe that I used for making them. So here is my brownie recipe with instructions for adding the peppermint patties 🙂
1 c. Butter, melted
2 c. Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Flour
3/4 c. Baking cocoa
1/2 tsp. Baking powder
1/4 tsp. Salt
About 12 unwrapped peppermint patties–the small (1.5 inch) kind that come in a bag 🙂
Stir together sugar, vanilla, and melted butter. Add eggs, beating well. Add flour, cocoa, baking powder & salt; beat until well blended.
Pour half the mixture into 9×9 baking pan, and spread out with a spatula. Place unwrapped peppermint patties on brownie base approx 1/2 inch apart. Pour and spread remaining mixture over peppermint patties.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool, cut into squares.
